Hats with "Manndalsmønster"

The pattern of Manndalen has been used in the village since around 1920, and has during the years to follow, grown very popular. Hats and mittons decorated with the special pattern, are now to be seen on heads and hands in both elder and newer generations, and even in areas outside Manndalen.
The origin of the pattern is still unknown, but some theories proclaim that it came to the area from the far East through traditional markets.
Products are knitted in black and white wool, and thereafter the colours are embroidered in. Choice of colours and smaller details of the embroidery differs between the producers, and therefore each product is unique.
